Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

Well, we are halfway through the year and as predicted, when the UK dumped Europe to go it alone, the month dropped in sales, whether you can say it is because of it, is doubtful, however, it has to be looked at and considered, especially if next month does the same, and if it does, then the Leave Europe brigade will have something to answer for, because it will be the start of something that will be hard to put a stop too.

The home grown brands are mixed with Jaguar Land Rover busting records and selling cars like they were going out of fashion, yet Nissan, Vauxhall, Ford, Aston Martin and Lotus all took a nosedive, Volkswagen still is being hit by their lies and misleading Diesel scandal, but they will buy themselves out of trouble, again, but it is Nissan, Ford and Vauxhall that are surprising, they are generally seen as the market leaders.

The German premium brands, Mercedes, Audi and BMW have all grown in the month, like the premium Asian brands Infiniti and Lexus, so, are the "bog standard" brands like Ford and Vauxhall being destroyed by these premium ones, well, yes they are, you can get some really great prices on the German cars, better than you can get on so called home grown ones.

MG has launched the new GS this month, and if the rumours are correct, there will be a new SUV next year carrying the ZS name tag, so if you remember the old school ZS, it is a name that must be capable of comparison to the old one.

PSA Group brands have started to list the real world fuel consumption figures so expect to see DS, Citroen and Peugeot with lower MPG numbers, but at least they are achievable, unlike now, even my own Citroen, when driven like a 90 year old, can't get anywhere near the claimed numbers, i can get 60+ but not the near 90 it claims.

Renault is still growing, but still has a way to go to reach the heady heights they had a few years ago, before they massacred the range, Dacia, the low cost brand owned by Renault, had a great run, with sales growing month after month, but this year, they are dropping, and it is not surprising, the cars are old, they use old style tech, and there is no new models on the horizon, they must get  a wiggle on and bring some new metal to the UK to keep the sales buoyant.

So we await next months figures with interest and will the Brexit have a significant effect on car sales for the rest of the year, will the foreign automakers impose tariffs on cars, and will we do the same, for a never ending spiral of costs that do nothing but hack off the buyer, or will it inspire mass purchasing of cars before the possibility of any changes to costs, only time will tell.
