USA SALES AUGUST - JLR - Jaguar continues it's downward trend, saved by Land Rover yet again.

  • Jaguar Land Rover U.S. August sales increase 12 percent with 6,368 units
  • Land Rover up 16 percent for the best Land Rover August sales month ever driven by Range Rover Evoque and Discovery Sport
  • Range Rover Evoque sets new all-time U.S. August sales high with 1,430 units sold, up 36 percent
Jaguar Land Rover North America today reported August 2015 U.S. sales. Sales for both brands hit 6,368 units, a 12 percent increase from 5,673 units in August 2014. Land Rover sales reached 5,225 units up 16 percent from 4,489 units in August 2014; Jaguar sales were 1,143 units, down 3 percent from 1,184 units in August 2014.


Year-to-date 2015, Jaguar Land Rover U.S. sales hit 52,769 units, an increase of 15 percent over 2014.

"We are pleased to continue our U.S. growth with a 12 percent increase in August," said Joe Eberhardt, President and CEO of Jaguar Land Rover North America. "The Land Rover brand reached a new high for U.S. August sales with the Range Rover Evoque and Discovery Sport both bringing in many new customers to our retailers."

U.S. BRAND HIGHLIGHTS

Land Rover

Land Rover had its best August retail month ever with 5,225 total units sold this month. Range Rover Evoque had its 2nd best sales month ever and best August ever, with 1,430 sales, up 36 percent from 1,051 sales in August 2014.

The recently launched Land Rover Discovery Sport added 881 units in August as the new nameplate's availability increases.

Year to date 2015, Land Rover is at an all-time U.S. high of sales, up 20 percent from 2014.

Land Rover's 2015 model year line-up features five models: 

The 240-hp turbocharged 2.0 liter Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque; the LR4 powered by a 340-hp supercharged 3.0 liter V6 engine; the Range Rover Sport and Range Rover, available with either a 340-hp supercharged 3.0 liter V6 or 510-hp supercharged 5.0 liter V8 powertrain.

For 16 MY, Land Rover will add two special editions to the Range Rover Sport lineup, the Range Rover Sport HST, available in either a 3.0L Supercharged V6 380hp engine or a 5.0L Supercharged V8 510hp engine with added SVR aero package and the 550-hp Range Rover Sport SVR.

Jaguar

For Jaguar, sales decreased 3 percent to 1,143 units. Leading the brand in August was the Jaguar F-TYPE with sales of 436 units, up 15 percent from 378 in August, 2014.

The 15MY XF, typically the Jaguar volume leader, is being replaced this winter with the all new 16MY XF sedan based on new lightweight aluminum architecture.

Year-to-date 2015, the Jaguar brand is down 4 percent to 10,021 units from 10,688 in 2014.

The 2015 Jaguar line-up features four models: The Jaguar XJ luxury sedan, powered by a 340-hp supercharged 3.0 liter V6 in rear-wheel or all-wheel-drive configuration, a 470-hp supercharged 5.0 liter V8 or a 550-hp supercharged 5.0 liter V8 in the XJR model. 

The Jaguar XF sports sedan comes in a number of variations: 240-hp turbocharged four cylinder engine, a 340-hp supercharged 3.0 liter V6 in rear-wheel or all-wheel-drive configurations, a 470-hp supercharged 5.0 liter V8, a 510-hp Supercharged 5.0 liter V8 in the XFR and a 550-hp Supercharged 5.0 liter V8 in the XFR-S. 

In its final year, the XK coupe and convertible grand touring models are powered by either a 385-hp 5.0 liter V8 or a 510-hp supercharged 5.0 liter V8 in the XKR. Jaguar also offers the Jaguar XKR-S coupe and convertible with a 550-hp supercharged 5.0 liter V8.

For 16 MY, the new F-TYPE line-up, the F-TYPE Coupe and Convertible, are powered by either a 340-hp supercharged 3.0 liter V6, a 380-hp supercharged 3.0 liter V6 in the F-TYPE S or a 550-hp supercharged 5.0 liter V8 in the F-TYPE R.

At the 2015 New York International Auto Show, Jaguar Land Rover introduced the second generation, new-from-the-ground-up, 16 MY Jaguar XF sedan. 

Based on Jaguar's new aluminum-intensive architecture, the new XF will come to market in fall, 2015. In 2016 the Jaguar lineup in the U.S. will expand with the addition of the Jaguar XE compact sports sedan and the Jaguar F-PACE performance crossover.
