Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

Ford takes top three sales spots in the UK for July with the Fiesta, Focus and Transit range.

Ford models were first, second and third in UK total vehicle sales in July and the company stretched its car sales lead over its nearest rival by 48 per cent, compared with July 2014.

According to the official July sales figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT):
  • Ford is UK market leader in total vehicle, car and commercial vehicle (CV) sales
  • Ford Fiesta, Ford Focus and Ford Transit range top UK total vehicle sales
  • July sales push total Ford Focus registrations beyond 1.75 million since launch
  • Ford Fiesta is the best-selling small car in Europe for the first half of 2015
  • Fiesta Van, Transit Connect, Transit Custom, Transit and Ranger are all CV segment leaders
Andy Barratt, Ford of Britain chairman and managing director, said: “We have consolidated and extended our long-standing UK market leadership through continued investment in exciting products and industry-leading technologies, delivered through the strongest UK dealer network.

“The sales success of our fresh and extended CV range this month has made five models segment leaders and the other one a close second.  Our car sales are also gathering momentum as we roll out further new models including C-MAX, S-MAX, Galaxy, Mustang and Mondeo Vignale."

The official figures released by the SMMT today show that total car sales in July were up 3.2 percent to 178,420 units, compared with July 2014.

A total of 71,990 UK customers were a major contributor to the 173,999 sales that have made the Fiesta the most popular small car in Europe for the first half of 2015.

Ford Focus increased sales and share in July, compared with July 2014, while Ford Kuga sales are at the highest level since it was launched, also recording sales and share increases in July, compared with prior year figures.
