Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

New Engine gives Renault's Captur a significant boost in emissions savings.

  • 110 hp diesel engine added to Captur line-up
  • 1.5-litre unit capable of returning up to 76.4 MPG (Combined cycle)
  • New dCi 110 available in mid-to-high spec Captur models
  • Captur dCi 110 priced from £17,695 OTR
  • Euro 6 compliant dCi 110 unit available to order from 1stApril
Renault is introducing a new higher-powered engine on its Captur crossover for those customers wanting higher performance whilst retaining excellent efficiency. The 1.5-litre 110 hp diesel engine brings more power and torque whilst still returning impressive fuel economy and emissions.

The engine produces 110 hp and 260 Nm torque, an increase of 20 hp and 40 Nm over the dCi 90 unit, yet still retains its environmental credentials offering economy figures of up to 76.4 MPG (NEDC Combined cycle) and emissions as low as 98 g/km, thanks in part to Stop & Start technology - meaning free road tax.

The Euro 6 compliant dCi 110 engine will be available to order on Dynamique, Dynamique S and Signature versions of Captur from 1st April, with prices starting at £17,695 for the Captur Dynamique dCi 110.

High power meets high specification
Dynamique versions of Captur come as standard with the MediaNav system including a seven-inch touchscreen, satellite navigation and multimedia connectivity, 17-inch silver alloys and automatic climate control. Dynamique S adds rear parking sensors, 17-inch two-tone alloys and electrically-operated, folding and heated mirrors.

The recently-introduced top-of-the-range Signature trim adds the R-Link Multimedia system with TomTom® LIVE satellite navigation, Grip Xtend advanced traction control, an uprated 4x35W Arkamys sound system, rear parking camera and leather upholstery.

Captur was the best-selling model in the B-SUV segment across Europe in 2014, with 165,130 examples sold across the region. Of those, 20,466 were sold in the UK, making it Renault UK’s second best-selling model after the Clio in only its second year since being launched in the summer of 2013. As at the end of 2014, 306,829 Capturs have been produced globally since the model’s launch.

The Captur range starts from £14,295 on-the-road.
